The Jennings Northwest Regional Utilities (JNRU) is a publicly owned regional sewer district (RSD) that serves the Country Squire Lakes community and the northwest quarter of Jennings County. JNRU also owns and operates the water utility serving customers within the Country Squire Lakes community. JNRU is governed by the environmental laws of the state and a seven-member board of trustees. Each board member is appointed by the Jennings County Commissioners to staggered four-year terms and serves voluntarily.

History of JNRU

In 1997, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) created JNRU at the request of the Jennings County Commissioners. At that time, the initial JNRU board purchased CSL Utilities, Inc. assets for use as their base of operations. The primary goal was to address sanitation issues in the northwest quarter of Jennings County.
